Description

The OCV 118 and 108 SA surge anticipation valves are designed to be installed on bypass lines and provide protection against destructive surges that can occur in pumping systems during sudden pump shutdowns. Unlike conventional relief valves that only open upon encountering a high-pressure wave, surge anticipation valves detect approaching high-pressure waves (pump power failure or low-pressure wave) and open in advance, thereby warning the subsequent high-pressure surge. By opening, the valve prevents pressure build-up before it occurs.
